EquatIO

Another great math and science tool that we have integrated into our Canvas instance called "EquatIO"! This tool was developed to:

• Easily create math & science instructional materials to enable students to learn and collaborate together
• Use EquatIO to flip your instruction - giving you increased classroom time to coach and mentor students and more time to provide 1:1 instruction for those students who need it
• Monitor student progress - create formative assessments and quizzes
• Enables teachers to become more of a facilitator instead of adopting a ‘sage on the stage approach, allowing participation in joint problem solving activities
• Provide equal access to math and STEM content - including those with learning disabilities and visual impairments in classroom activities alongside their peers

EquatIO is an easy-to-use plug in math extension that allows you to add mathematical equations, formulas, graphs and more into the Rich Content Editor with a click.

How to add EquatIO to your Canvas course:

From your Canvas Dashboard, choose the course you would like to add EquatIO to. Once in the course, go to settings, at the bottom of the right-hand menu.

At the top, click “Apps” and scroll down or search for MathType.

Once found, click “add app” It has now been added to your course.

How to use EquatIO

To get started, click on the more external tools button in the Rich Content Editor toolbar, then click EquatIO.
