Good afternoon, friends,
I wanted to bring your attention to one of the best midwestern professional development opportunities that I have been a part of for the past 15 years, an organization called SIDLIT (pronounced SIDE-LIGHT). The Summer Institute on Distance Learning and Instructional Technology
(SIDLIT) conference is a gathering of instructional technologists,
educational technology specialists, instructional designers, online
faculty, technology leaders, assessment coordinators, librarians, and
more who are involved with distance learning, instructional technology,
or online programs. The event is sponsored by Colleague 2 Colleague
(C2C).
I was honored to serve as Chair and Vice-Chair of this organization several years ago and it continues to grow and expand in new areas. My colleagues have decided to make this year's event entirely online and FREE...that's right, it's complimentary and loaded with extremely talented professors and instructional designers in many different states.
The schedule approaches topics of creating engaging mathematics activities, accessibility, OER, innovative technologies, data analysis, mixed realities, transitioning through COVID, increasing student retention, and numerous opportunities to learn new technologies. I'm astonished at the variety of presentations this year and the outstanding leaders who have stepped up to volunteer to present - incredible.
I've decided to attend the event again, this year, and I hope you will join me. After all, it is FREE, and aligns perfectly with our ADC course. I can't think of a better way to get some professional development, network with colleagues around the midwest AND pick up a new skill.
Please consider it, you won't be disappointed.
REGISTER FOR THE EVENT AUGUST 5th - 7th
Take care,
Anna
