Campus Book Club: Join your colleagues from across campus for a virtual book club.

    • Stamped - Wednesday, March 3 @ 11:30 am-1:00 pm. Facilitated by Jennifer Woodruff.
    • The Tyranny of Merit Thursday, April 8 @ 3:00-4:30 pm. Facilitated by Cherie Rankin.  

Faculty Academy I: Teaching and Learning at HCC - January 25-February 14, 2021. 

Online with one synchronous session on February 4 @ 5:30-8:30 pm. Orientation for new HCC faculty, both full- and part-time. Contact your Dean for approval.  


Faculty Academy IITalking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell - April 1 and 15 @ 3:30-5:00 pm. We will discuss the effects of Gladwell’s topics on our interactions with students: how encounters with strangers go wrong, how we default to the truth when lies are too hard to face, how behaviors are tightly linked to location and time, and how we do not understand the context in which people are operating. Facilitated by Cristina Prestin-Beard. 

Essential Competency Rubric Workshops will continue, sponsored by the Assessment Committee. Dates and times available here. 

PERT Mid-Year Tenure Training - Friday, February 26, 2021 @ 10:00-11:30 am. Contact Daryl Menke or Lauren Denofrio-Corrales.   

LinkedIn Learning Course Club, Growth Mindset – Thursday, February 25, 2021 @ 3:00-4:00 pm. Join this discussion of a TBD LinkedIn Learning training video. The facilitator is still undetermined, so contact Stephanie Kratz if you would like to volunteer.
