The Fall semester is nearing completion and we hope that you all had a great semester of learning with your students! We will soon be sharing end of the semester reminders as well as Spring 2022 start of the semester getting started checklists. However, we did want to take a minute and introduce our Spring 2022 Professional Development schedule with you. Next semester is going to look much different than it has in previous terms. We reviewed the Teaching and Learning survey data and you spoke, we listened. Here is what you told us about Professional Development needs:

Teaching and Learning Commons Tour
The Teaching and Learning Commons has recently had a mini-makeover and now
includes several new, innovative instructional technologies. Come take a tour

Need help getting your Canvas course prepped for the

Connect the Essential Competencies within your course and align them to

Creating Virtual Reality
Apps
Sure, there are plenty of VR apps on the market BUT - there aren't any that
match exactly what you teach so, how about create your own? Let me show you how.
In this interactive session, we will create creative VR images and build our
content through overlays using software called RoundMe. A great project

Canvas Analytics
Canvas Analytics along with Google Analytics has quite a bit to offer as you

Earth with VR
The world has so many beautiful and amazing places to visit. If we're lucky,
we're able to travel and see a few of them. But even the most active travelers
can only see a fraction. What if we could see them all? Come explore VR with
Google Earth, let's travel somewhere together.

New and Emerging
Technologies; What's Next?
Now that we have explored some innovative technologies, what's next on the
Innovative Grant list? Come learn what new technologies have been ordered this
Spring and what the future may hold at the TLC. Let's brainstorm other
areas of technology that our students may benefit from.

All of these opportunities will be offered in our new Teaching and Learning
Commons in SCB 2401 - the old IDC location. We have made this a beautiful space
that houses some incredible technology. It's also where you will locate Jewel
and I, as our offices are now located in this space. We hope to have the space
ready to use by Christmas.
