Tech Retreat - Richland Community College

The Instructional + Technology = Engagement Retreat is happening this Friday from 8:30-3:30 at Richland Community College. I've had the opportunity to help share some of the planning responsibilities this year and it's been a fun adventure. Just a few of the many topics on the agenda include Kahoot, MS Word, Video Conferencing, Grading with Video, GIMP, ZIpGrade, Connecting Online Students, Google VR, Minecraft and so much more! Faculty from area community colleges are gathering to share their best practices and offering small 10-minute learning bursts of what has been working well in their classes.

I volunteered to present on two topics; Google VR and Word Accessibility in 10 minutes. The topics are vastly different, but I thought it would be a great way to demonstrate two unique concepts. I recorded a short video in case you can't be present and want to see a little sniped of what I'll be covering:

If you are curious, I'm using Zoom to record my screen and share my cell phone (just joined the meeting as myself and used the share.zoom.us link) - works great. I'm running a pilot this year on Zoom, interested? I'm happy to share a license and get you started. Contact me if you think you would like to do something like this in your course or record a tutorial. Zoom also has screensharing possibilities we can discuss, too.

The Tech Retreat is filled with 12-minute takeaway tech-demo's and discussion sessions. I know we have a pretty good sized group going from Heartland and I look forward to collaborating with them on new and exciting projects.

Hope your weekend is great!
