Heartland Take Five | Library Supports Online Learners

I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to learn more about Heartland's library since beginning my career here. We have a terrific library staff that is willing to help our faculty and students find the exact resource they are looking for. They provide guides and tutorials to help our faculty and students with projects and research. I invited Heartland's Library Director, Ms. Rachelle Stivers, to join me in an informal discussion specifically about online services that Rachelle and her team offer our faculty when designing and developing an online course. Take a listen. . .

It's clear that with Rachelle's 20-years of experience, she provides a wealth of information to our faculty and students. Her team has built some outstanding resources to help you and your students be successful. If you haven't thought about how you could adopt the library into your course, I hope you will plan to implement their services, soon. Canvas has the ability to embed a librarian in your course or you can provide a link to the many resources they offer, including the chat feature.

Please contact Rachelle or a member of her team for a complete listing of all the services that you can include in your courses. Once you know what resources you want to add, let's discuss where the best place is to put them into Canvas and how that will impact your students. I'm thrilled about our partnership with the library, let's continue to work together to best utilize the tools we have to build a quality learning experience for our students.

Here are a few additional tutorials you may find helpful:
As always feel free to comment or leave note below, take care ~
