F2F to Online in 90 minutes

Over this past week, I've been doing a series of workshops on how to transform your F2F course to online in a short amount of time. Here are some tips to consider when using Canvas:

• Use the Heartland CC Course Template from Canvas Commons
• Work in Canvas Modules and edit the content from the template
• Communicate with students first, get your weekly overview in with the course outcomes you have not completed, add your content and then work on assessments. Think of it in four-steps.
• Consider using Zoom to provide an option for students to meet with you (see Zoom blog post for instructions)
• Duplicate modules for a consistent look and feel
• When all done, go to Assignments to arrange your materials into groups
• Use Speed Grader to grade quickly and download the Canvas Mobile App
